Fueling America

Having a hypocrite as a President is very frustrating to me. Barack H. Obama feels that offshore drilling is foolish. He ridiculed John McCain during the primary for supporting offshore drilling. (Not that I am a McCain fan, I voted for him in order to cast a vote against the Anointed One). The then Senator Obama claimed that if we mere mortals would only change our oil, get a tuneup, and inflate our tires we could save all the oil underneath McCain's feet. Okay, he is a radical liberal, I get that. It is no surprise that the Left wants total control over America by kneecapping our industry. If solar, wind, biomass, whatever else the Left loves would be efficient enough to power a nation then the free market would have already pounced upon it. Don't respond to that statement by claiming all the new solar companies are out there making money, they are subsidized by my hard earned dollar. They are feeding off tax credits and free money from the government. Not that the money is free, hyper-inflation is coming and it will destroy this country. I digress, back to the hypocrite. I hope that you understand that recently the Left's puppet in office approved a loan to Brazil for their offshore oil drilling. Hmmmmm. Was it payback to George Soros? Do some homework, I'm not a reporter, go to your favorite news feed and see if you can find the story. If you can't, go to Fox News. So, its okay for other countries to drill, its not like an oil spill off the shore of Cuba will effect us in any way. I do not want government sponsored drilling, I want government to get out of the way. Let the energy companies go and get the natural resources out there. Don't counter that argument with the Left's tired claim that the scraps of land they have thrown the oil companies are undeveloped. First of all, where does the government get off owning any land? Second of all, the oil is not there. You may as well sell them leases on the moon. China and India are developing. I am not an alarmist against these countries. I just want to compete with them on a fair footing. It is no secret that the Left hates America. They hate it and want to incarnate it into their own bastardized version of fascism. When you go to fill up your car think upon this, "why". Why does the government tax the gas so heavily. Why do they want to take away your SUV and make you drive a government motors vehicle. Why can't oil companies go out and get the oil out there. Why can't you buy the gas straight from them as in a free market system. The governments (federal, state, local, whatever) are the middleman. What right do they have to stick their nose in the price of gas. Oh that's right, they don't.

  1. In college, we did this interesting study, it was a two part study. We charted electrical consumption vs. economic growth from 1900 through 1985, at that time the last year for which data was available. Electrical consumption mirrored economic growth, showing us that unless we would build more generating capacity, there was no way further growth would be sustained. While the electrical generation industry has done amazing things in efficiency and capacity factors, very little was done in the 20 years since to ensure our economic future was secure with plenty of capacity. Second part of the study was concerning oil consumption. I don't remember the exact data, but we saw that more oil was consumed by a factor of 20 or so, in electrical generation than in automobiles and all other forms of transportation combined. Our conclusion was that the best way to be free of foreign oil was to build nuclear plants and shutdown oil generation units.
